Home surveillance showed video of the family’s two Shih Tzus playing in the backyard when a coyote approached from out of nowhere. It looks as if the dogs are trying to play at first, but when Brodie takes off toward the coyote, things get really scary.
The next moment, she’s running for her life with the coyote on her trail. The coyote grabs the 13-pound dog by the neck and tries fleeing the yard. But Brodie survives the attack because of the collar she was wearing.
Brodie had on a collar that pairs with the home’s electronic invisible fence, and when the coyote tried crossing the yard’s border, it received a zap. The coyote had its mouth around the pup’s collar, and the small electrical shock was enough to scare the beast into dropping the dog.
Brodie escaped with only a few minor puncture wounds and is expected to make a full recovery!
