The Asbury Park Police Department discovered an abandoned home in New Jersey with over a dozen dogs and puppies left to fend for themselves. They got ahold of the Monmouth County SPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement & Animal Control Units to raid the property and help the neglected animals.
One female dog was tied up in the backyard while the rest of the dogs and puppies were kept in a hot garage with only a cracked window for fresh air. They had no food or water. One puppy lying lifeless on the concrete ground was rushed to the nearest pet hospital, but he didn’t make it.
Officers gave the dogs food and water and took them all in for treatment. They are now recovering at the MCSPCA, and since this is an ongoing investigation, the dogs and puppies are not yet available for adoption.
Any information on the case is appreciated as they search for the owners of the home. Dial (877) 898-7297 for the Monmouth County Animal Cruelty Hotline.
