Someone abandoned five puppies at a Walmart as the California wildfires ravaged the area around them. They were taped shut in an empty beer box as helpless as can be. Fortunately, a good Samaritan who also happens to work with Soft Paws Rescue in Sonoma County discovered them and took the pups in.

She found the five puppies suffering inside the cardboard carton as temperatures reached 105-F that day. They so desperately needed medical care if they were going to survive.

The puppies were taken in for checkups and were all found to be healthy. The rescue decided to name each pup after a fire department to honor the brave people risking it all to fight the fires devastating the state.
