In a new study conducted by OnePoll on behalf of PupBox, 2,005 Americans revealed their top name choices and how they arrived at them. The answers ranged anywhere from favorite foods to pop icons! 🙂
The study showed that 1 in 4 name their dog or cat after a food, and 36% saying they give their four-legged friends “human” names. When having to name more than one pet, these people chose themes such as pop culture icons (37%), fictional characters (37%), or historical figures (33%). Additionally, 6 out of 10 people judge owners on their pet names! Slightly over half of those polled admitted to it taking longer than two weeks to teach their furbabies their names…
