RSPCA Woodside Animal Center staff members arrived at work one morning to see a dog tied to the front gate. They didn’t know how long she’d been there, but the dog sure was happy to see someone.
“She was stood with her head pushed through the bars of the gate, her ears back with these big, brown puppy dog eyes,” said a spokeswoman from the RSPCA Woodside Animal Center in a press release.
Misty’s rib were showing, and she was suffering from a skin condition and had some cuts on her nose. But shelter workers were happy that she was now somewhere safe and could leave that rough, neglected life behind her.
They found that Misty was microchipped, but she’d been rehomed several years ago. And now here she was abandoned outside of a shelter.
Abandoning an animal, even outside of a shelter, is never the answer. But Misty is on her way to a much better life. The RSPCA is hoping the public can help with their investigation.
Once the sweet girl is ready, she’ll be put up for adoption. In the meantime, Misty is recovering and relaxing and loving this new life in which she’ll never have to worry about being abandoned again!
