The Bristol Police Department in Rhode Island recently held a swearing-in ceremony for the latest addition to the squad, Brody the new K9 pup! But the little guy couldn’t help but nap through the entire thing. 😀
The department decided to bring in a therapy dog to add to the force, and while it was bad timing due to him not being able to be around many people because of social distancing, it happened when people seemed to need him the most.
“People are really stressed, especially in law enforcement,” Officer Keith Medeiros, Brody’s handler, told The Dodo. “Just by walking in the police department with Brody, people immediately smile, they immediately get into a better place. They want to pet him, want to hug him and it’s just a really good thing.”
The police department posted the ceremony video to Facebook showing little Brody getting in some much-needed rest, and it took on a life of its own. You could say the therapy dog’s already doing a great job of cheering people up! 🙂
