Rachel, a nine-year-old Labrador-hound mix, has been in a shelter since she was two years old. For whatever reason, she was always overlooked. But that was finally about to change…
She was picked up as a stray at two years old and taken to Pets and People Humane Society in Yukon, Oklahoma.
At the time, Rachel was very hyper and didn’t get along well with the other animals. But as she grew older, she calmed down and is now used to being around cats and dogs.
After seven long years at the shelter, it was time for someone to feel the love this dog had to give. And that someone was Laura.
Laura heard about Rachel through Susie’s Senior Dogs, an organization that helps dogs get adopted. When she saw her on Facebook, she had to have her!
Now the two spend all of their time together, from taking walks and going on car rides to hanging out at the office. 🙂
Laura notes that she couldn’t ask for a more perfect dog.
“Rachel is just wonderful. I love her so much. We had a great first week. She took to my little convertible without hesitation – she likes the wind on her face. She went to work with me each day and loves the others in the office – as they adore her too. She sits next to my desk and sleeps most of the time. We go on many walks every day. The neighbors are all crazy about her. She sleeps on a pretty little bed next to me. Never makes a peep, never barks, never runs – she is as perfect a dog as I have ever had. I am blessed to have found her.”
It turns out you can make up for lost time. 🙂
