The Cape May Police Department in New Jersey is used to dealing with delinquents, but they were about to have a run-in with a baddie unlike any other they’ve ever encountered. A little Pug had escaped from her owner and was running about the neighborhood without a care in the world. But it wouldn’t last for long! 😀
An officer headed out, found the dog, and brought her back to the station. That’s where they took a formal mugshot, errr, pugshot of the dog! 😉
The authorities wanted to put a picture of the dog out on social media in a kind of humorous way, so they framed her as a criminal. They needed to find the owner, and what better way than to share a funny picture on Facebook?
The pup was placed in solitary confinement to think about what she’d done. Or maybe they just wanted to keep her safe and sound until her parents could be found. 😛
The Facebook post received thousands of likes and shares. It was captioned, “This is what happens when you run away from home. This guy was captured sneaking through yards on the 1300 block on New Jersey Avenue. #pugmug”
And the humor did the trick! Someone who saw the post knew the dog’s owner and contacted them. The Pug, whose name is Bean, was reunited with her parent. She’s now resting comfortably at home, and hopefully she has learned her lesson. 😉
