While we all may share different views on hunting, I think trapping is one thing most of us can agree is truly unfair and inhumane. The animals don’t even get a chance to defend themselves, and they have to sit and suffer in a painful trap for however long.
The Wisconsin hunters in this video seem to agree with that view on animal trapping. When John Oens comes across a timber wolf suffering and unable to move, he feels an overwhelming responsibility to let the beautiful creature run free. It’s just a matter of finding a way to do it safely.
Using a board to provide a barrier and distance himself from the wolf, he’s able to remove the trap without being attacked. And the wolf is off and running — a success!
